Our Mission
The Chatterbox Mission is simple: “Helping therapists, help families”. We invest in the clinical, professional and personal development of our clinicians so they provide high-quality care to our families. In turn, our therapists are committed to empowering children and their families with the skills they need to thrive in their world.
Our Values
Our mission is upheld daily across all clinics and is reflected in our core values. Every day the Chatterbox team strive to:
Make a difference everyday
At Chatterbox, we’re a team in every sense of the word. We coach, support, and collaborate to bring out the best in each other and the children we see. We celebrate wins with our families-big and small- and know that everyday, we can make a difference to a child’s life.
We help each other thrive
We’re driven to do meaningful work and constantly push ourselves to be the best therapists we can be. We learn, we grow, and share this knowledge with our team, families and communities. Our team is inspired to make an impact every day—through our skills, our passion, and our commitment to showing up with purpose.
Education Matters
We believe learning is a lifelong journey. Whether we’re trying something new, making mistakes or teaching someone else, we’re always learning, growing, and developing ourselves—and each other. Knowledge is something we actively share, because it makes the whole team and our community stronger.
Get Involved
We show up with energy, positivity, and purpose. Whether it’s embracing opportunities, contributing to the team, or sharing a laugh during the day, we choose to get involved to make your sessions the best they can be for your child.
Our Story
Chatterbox began in 2004 with a big vision and a little house in Penrith.
After years working in both public and private early intervention, Jennifer Kay wanted to create something different, a place where children and families could experience real, lasting change, and where therapists could grow in a workplace filled with support, positivity and purpose.
With the help of her father, Jen transformed her old home into the very first Chatterbox clinic. From day one, it was built on a foundation of care, connection, and a genuine belief in the potential of every child.
In 2006, Kate joined as Chatterbox’s second speech pathologist and she’s still with us today. Together, Jen and Kate laid the groundwork for what would become one of Sydney’s most trusted and beloved paediatric therapy services.
Growing With Purpose
As demand for high-quality, family-centred therapy grew, so did we:
- 2010 – We expanded to Narellan
- 2015 – We moved our South West Sydney clinic to Oran Park
- 2018 – We opened our Bella Vista
- 2020 – Our Kingswood clinic launched
- 2022 – We opened our doors in Rosehill
Across every location, we’ve stayed true to what makes Chatterbox special: personal connections, playful learning, expert therapy, and a whole-child, whole-family approach.
Where We Are Now
Today, Chatterbox is home to a passionate team of over 60 therapists, allied health assistants, and support staff, all dedicated to helping children thrive.
Over the past 21 years, we’ve supported more than 15,000 families across Sydney and regional NSW. From first words to big transitions, we’re proud to be part of so many children’s stories and to continue making a meaningful difference in their lives.
Our Team
At Chatterbox, we’re proud to have a passionate and experienced team of over 45 Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Allied Health Assistants, all working together to support your child’s development.
Our therapists collaborate closely to provide personalised, high-quality care, whether your child needs support with communication, play, emotional regulation, motor skills, or daily routines.
We also have team members with specialised training in areas like:
- Feeding therapy
- Toileting support
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
This means we can tailor therapy to your child’s unique needs and stage of development.
Behind the scenes, our dedicated administration and support team helps keep everything running smoothly. They’re here to support both our therapists and your family, making sure you feel informed, organised, and cared for every step of the way.
