Conditions We Treat

Empowering Every Child to Thrive

At Chatterbox, we work with a range of children, spanning from 12 months to 12 years. We support children with many different needs, from speech and language to motor and sensory challenges. Our therapists use play-based approaches and neurodiversity-affirming practices to create a positive space where children feel safe, motivated, and celebrated for who they are.

These approaches also extend to helping your child with school readiness, with all services also available through online and telehealth appointments.

Speech Therapists

Our Speech therapists work with children with communication, feeding and swallowing difficulties. From toddlers just learning to talk to school-aged kids navigating complex speech and language challenges, we support children at every stage of development, including:

Understanding instructions, concepts, questions, and stories.

Using words and sentences to express thoughts clearly and confidently.

Producing sounds clearly so others can understand your child’s speech.

Helping your child speak smoothly, with less repetition or tension.

Building the skills needed for confident reading, writing, and learning.

Supporting clear production of “s”, “z”, and other sibilant sounds.

Helping children with motor planning difficulties coordinate speech sounds.

Occupational Therapists

Our Occupational therapists support children to grow in confidence, independence, and participation in daily activities. From little ones building early play and movement skills, to older children developing self-care, fine motor, and sensory regulation abilities, we’re here to help at every stage of their journey, including:

Small hand movements like drawing, writing, cutting, grasping, and manipulating objects.

Whole-body movement skills like running, jumping, climbing, and balance.

The ability to recognise, manage, and respond to emotions in a calm and flexible way.

How children process and respond to sensory input (e.g. noise, touch, movement).

Daily tasks like dressing, toileting, feeding, hygiene, and sleep routines.

Connecting with others, turn-taking, understanding social cues, and building friendships.
